I’m currently in my final year of college, pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science from Amity University, Noida. I have been previously associated with different NGOs focused on “education for all” and I’m on the core committee of my university’s MUN club( I love MUNs ). I have a knack for creative/content writing. I love writing poems and have been painting for the last ten years, and sometimes I do a bit of photography as well. : )

How I came to know about WeCP

I was looking for a Summer internship just when I got to know about WeCP from a friend. I looked the company up on LinkedIn, dropped an email, and an interview was scheduled. I wanted to work on Data science, so I requested something in the same domain. Two days later, I got an email that I’m in. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience because this was the first time that I was stepping into the outside world. Since then, every day has been an adventure for me at WeCP. Just when my internship with the content team was to be over, I got an offer to work as an intern with the product team, and I couldn’t be happier.

A day in my life at WeCP

When you’re working in a startup, you have to be the jack-of-all-trades. My typical day starts with the SCRUM, where you get to learn a lot because you hear general as well as specific terms related to different fields from the people of every department. I’m basically responsible for keeping a check on the WeCP support and knowledge base and keep adding features to the platform. I maintain the helpdesk chatbot, create help articles for the knowledge base and also look after the statistics of the incoming tickets to ensure timely resolution. My work also includes researching further automation of the entire help desk. On some days, I also work with the content team (remember what I told you about working at a start-up ;) ).

Highlights of my Internship at WeCP

WeCP excites me every single day. It’s been three months now, and I can say I have learned something new every day. I have made questions, attended meetings with the customers, worked on the knowledge base and chatbots, and even interacted with other companies to purchase a product. I love how the seniors here have faith in me even though I’m an intern and allow me to do a lot of work independently. I also LOVE that I’m even asked for suggestions and inputs in a lot of decisions. How cool is it that you can call anyone in the company, including the CEO literally, to ask even the smallest doubt that you have? WeCP is like a family, and I never felt the pressure here. The inclusive and chill work culture in WeCP is amazing. I would love to work in this company literally FOREVER. By the way, this may be the reason why I am even putting this rant up :)

Perks of working in a startup

Startups are amazing to work at. Since there are fewer employees, you get the chance to deal with multiple problems independently. You feel a strong sense of belongingness and responsibility towards the company. And, of course, every day is a new adventure, and the work is very dynamic. You get to learn from real-world problems, and everybody is always very approachable and like family. It’s like a football team, or maybe slightly bigger, who celebrate together after every victory.

Overall impression

If you are scared of the corporate world as a college-going student, always make sure to join a startup like WeCP (We Create Problems) to kickstart your journey into the outside world. If you have an amazing start, you’ll definitely take a lot of knowledge, experience, and happiness back home. It’s not only important for the company to have your interests in line with their goal, but it’s equally important for you to feel a sense of belonging to that company. Unless you feel great, you can’t give your best performance. You might feel lost in the sea of employees in bigger companies, but in startups, you get a chance to explore your hidden talents. Who knows, you might become a leader tomorrow! :)
